2009 Tournament in Review |

The 6th Annual Robin Kaplan Memorial Golf Tournament was held on August 13th and 14th. The 2009 event moved to the Lake of Isles Golf Course at Foxwoods Resort and Casino. Sponsors, golfers, and celebrities were treated to a cocktail reception at the Lake of Isles banquet facilities the night before the tournament. This gave everyone an opportunity to mix and mingle with their fellow golfers as well as meet the celebrity guests. The following day, everyone enjoyed 18 holes of golf on Thursday at the wonderful Lake of Isles Golf Course. The golfing activities concluded with our Long Drive Contest, Skills Challange, and our $100,000 Shot Challenge. Just prior to dinner, we held our second Helicopter Ball Drop! Almost 1,000 number golf balls were dropped from a helicopter onto the 10th fairway, with prize money given to the "owners" of the balls landing closest to the pin. Thanks to the support of our wonderful participants, the 2009 event brought our 6 year fund raising total to over $700,000!!! |
